Today’s agreement was signed on behalf of the Sultanate’s government by Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad al-Rumhy, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and William R. Bill Thomas, CEO and Board Chairman of EOG Resources Inc.
Block 36, covering an area of 18,556 sq kilometers, lies in the Rub-al-Khali (Empty Quarter) in the southwest of the country. EOG Resources plans to drill at least two
exploratory wells by mid-2022.
