Washington, Dec.09 (ONA) ---- A report issued by the US Congress praised the Sultanate's experience in the field of religious freedoms. The report affirmed that the Sultanate still maintains its high position in religious freedom through coexistence, religious tolerance and dialogue within the Omani society.
The report also praised the Sultanate's role, under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, in disseminating peace, religious tolerance, mutual understanding, coexistence, and rapprochement between religions.
The report pointed to the Sultanate’s efforts, represented by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, through its remarkable efforts at the local and global levels in spreading values of understanding and religious tolerance among all religions and peoples through the Ministry’s various programs, the understanding bulletin that aims to expand dialogue and encourage respectful discussion among other religions.
The report also touched on the annual networking event organized by the Ministry every year during the holy month of Rhamadan.
It is worth mentioning that the Sultanate has being exerting sincere efforts in spreading values of coexistence and understanding among nations and religions. The Sultanate recently launched Sultan Qaboos Declaration Project on United Human Values, which aims at enhancing values of coexistence and understanding among nations and religions.
