Muscat, Dec 10 (ONA) ---- Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will organize the South A'Sharqiya Economic Forum on the 22nd of December, under the theme "Sustainable Economy".
The 7-day event aims to increase the economic activities and purchasing power in the governorate in various sectors and positively influence the economic sector, as well as promoting the most important elements of tourism and trade in the governorate.
The inauguration ceremony will be held in Sunaisla Fort in the Wilayat of Sur under the patronage of Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al-Shabibi, Minister of Housing.
The forum aims to promote projects of SMEs owners and productive families, as well as highlighting the civilizational and cultural landmarks in the wilayats of the governorate.
The forum targets a number of economic sectors, including tourism, industry and food security. OCCI seeks through this forum to highlight tourist attractions and economic capabilities of the governorate.
The first day of the forum will include the opening ceremony and the tourism investment exhibition, in addition to the opening of the heritage village in Sunaisla Fort.
On the second day, a seminar will be held entitled "Development of the economy of the Governorate of South A'Sharqiya”. It will discuss the urban strategy of the governorate (Oman Vision 2040), the importance of the governorate's strategic location and its role in strengthening the Omani economy.
The forum will include entrepreneurial innovation activities, which are 5 projects per wilaya, with a rate of 25 projects and a dialogue session that discusses issues that touch the Omani youth and the challenges that they may face in entrepreneurship, in addition to other activities in various fields.
