Muscat, Jan 28 (ONA) --- The Ministry of Heritage and Culture today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Eshraqa, a Khimji Ramdas CSR arm, for periodic utilization of Children's Museum as the main venue for STEMA Centre (Science, Technology Engineering, Math and Arts Centre).
The MoU was signed by Rahma bint Qassim al-Farsi, Director-General of Museums at the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, and Nailesh Khimji, Board Member of Khimji Ramdas Group of Companies. The ceremony was attended by Salim bin Mohammed al-Mahrouqi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture for Heritage Affairs, and Gopala Krishnan Shankar of Khimji Ramdas Group of Companies.
The MoU seeks to devise a future plan as part of the initiative aimed to encourage and inspire Omani youth to enter the sphere of STEMA zone, namely to enable students aged 8 to 16 to obtain the skills needed to tap the global economy and future professions.
The signing of the MoU comes as a step forward within the framework of future vision "Oman 2040".
The current programme will be implemented this year in the open area of the museum (300 metres), in addition to group training areas in the facility.
The Ministry will also dedicate other areas to host the two-week initiative, like Nizwa Cultural Centre in the Governorate of A'Dakhiliyah, the Department of Heritage and Culture in the Wilayat of Sohar and the Directorate General of Heritage and Culture in Dhofar.
