     Muscat, Feb.03 (ONA) ---- The activities of the international conference 4th International Conference on Language, Linguistics, Literature and Translation: Exploring Cultural Intersections," will start on Thursday at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), under the patronage of Dr. Abdul-Munim bin Mansour al-Hasani, Minister of Information.

   The conference will focus on the dynamics of culture and its representations in the fields of Language, Linguistics, Literature and Translation.  It aims to emphasize cultural intersections and explore ways in which such intersections could be conceptualized, critiqued or disrupted and ultimately reconstructed.

    The conference seeks to provide a forum for scholars, researchers, academics, translators and students to get acquainted with the latest developments in scientific research in the field of their specialties and interests, while preparing the field for conference participants to interact, dialogue and communicate with scholars and researchers from different countries of the world.

   This conference is organized by the Department of English Language and Literature at the College of Arts and Social Sciences.  Its activities will continue until February 8th.  More than 90 research papers will be presented over three days by specialists and researchers from the Sultanate and various countries, such as the United States of America, Britain, France, Canada, Italy, Spain, Brunei and many more countries.  Researchers from the GCC countries also participate.

   More than 200 participants from inside and outside the Sultanate will attend the conference.
