Muscat, Mar.08 (ONA) ---- Dr. Rawya bint Saud al- Busaidiya, Minister of Higher Education, received in her Office the Belarusian academic and trade delegation headed by Sergey Chizhik, Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and a number of businessmen working in the technical sector.
The Minister of Higher Education touched on the future directions of higher education in the Sultanate and the interest that the leadership attaches to education, innovation and industrial intelligence, which is reflected in the programs and projects offered by universities and colleges in the Sultanate.
She pointed out that the Sultanate is currently focusing on three important sectors, namely the renewable energy, the technical systems sector and the health sector, stressing the importance of exchanging experiences between the Sultanate and Belarus, especially in serving these sectors and benefiting from international experiences and finding joint educational projects.
Azza bint Sulaiman al-Ismailia, Minister of Technology and Communications, received the Belarusian delegation. During the meeting she stressed the importance of intensifying efforts between the Sultanate and Belarus, working together to find technical products through a team from both countries, and that the Sultanate be a centre for re-export and access to neighboring markets, such as the African market.
Qais bin Mohammed al-Yousef, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), Dr. Hilal bin Ali al-Hinai, Secretary-General of The Research Council (TRC), and Dr. Al Fadl bin Abbas al-Hinai, CEO of OCCI, received the Belarusian academic and trade delegation.
The Belarusian delegation’s program included visits to TRC, Innovation Park Muscat to get familiarized with the most important roles that the TRC plays to encourage innovation and scientific research, in addition to visiting the State General Reserve Fund (SGRF), during which the economic and trade fields enjoyed by both countries were reviewed.
