Nicosia, 15 Feb (ONA) ---- UN peacekeepers discovered a 4-year-old child in the buffer zone of the divided island of Cyprus during a night-time patrol, state media reported today.
Cyprus Radio (RIK) said the little girl had been handed over to child welfare workers. She is thought to come from an Arab country.
It is suspected that the child was separated from her parents. Soldiers from the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) are now working with the police to find the parents.
