Brasilia, 16 Feb (ONA) -- At least 18 people have died in landslides and floods due to heavy rain in Petropolis city, Brazil today.

Floods engulfed the streets and swept away cars and trees and authorities had urged the public to flee to safer places, according to CNN.

It added that rescue teams had to use boats to look for survivors.
