This was stated in a statement issued by the Diwan of Royal Court reading as follows:
“It is with deep grief that His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has received news of the sad demise of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
The departed Queen was a constant friend of the Sultanate of Oman. Since she ascended the throne of the UK, Queen Elizabeth II was known to be a judicious leader who contributed immensely to the propagation of love and peace in the whole world, throughout her 70-year reign. Oman, upon the death of the Queen, loses a truly prominent personality.
His Majesty the Sultan gave his Royal orders to fly flags at half-mast in establishments of the public and private sectors and in embassies of the Sultanate of Oman abroad tomorrow, Friday, 9 September 2022.
While commiserating with the UK leadership, government and people over this great loss, the Sultanate of Oman extends its sincere condolences to the British Royal Family and to the people of the United Kingdom.”
