Conference Mulls Efficiency of AI, Digitization in Developing HR Productivity

Salalah, 7 Aug (ONA) --- The “12th GCC Conference on Developing Human Resources Productivity” kicked off in Salalah today under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.

The two-day conference deals with artificial intelligence (AI) and digitization as key drivers in development. It discusses the role of the “National System for Institutional Excellence (Ejada)” in achieving the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The conference lays emphasis on the empowerment of leadership as a means of enhancing institutional productivity, as well as the role of technology in developing institutional governance and strategic planning.

The conference elaborates on the balance between human intelligence and artificial intelligence as a means of augmenting productivity and integrating sustainability systems into the corporate culture – with the aim of upgrading institutional performance. The event also deals with the importance of innovation and digital transition applications in generating green jobs. It offers an opportunity to review the latest experiences and practices in this field.

Nayef Hamad Fadhil, Head of Dhofar Branch of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), delivered a speech in which he underscored the role of AI in improving strategic planning in institutions.

He explained that AI enhances productivity, supports innovation in the public and private sectors, eases the development of plans based on data analysis and facilitates decision making. AI also helps in the implementation of institutions’ strategies and the evolution of innovative solutions that benefit workers and the beneficiaries of services, he observed.

The conference is organized in cooperation between the Ministry of Labour, OCCI branch in Dhofar, OQ Group and Al Asayel Conferences Company.

The event seeks to prepare the authorities concerned to address future challenges by enhancing human performance and introducing comprehensive knowledge about the importance of productivity within the context of Oman Vision 2040.

The conference also explores the balance between human intelligence and artificial intelligence, the importance of the sustainability of institutional quality systems and other means of raising productivity.

The conference also envisages enabling young leaders to improve performance and utilize digital transition to generate green jobs.

The first day’s sessions included working papers on the role of AI in spreading public awareness, developing corporate governance, enhancing strategic planning and augmenting productivity.
