Summer Program for School Students Kicks off in Dhofar Governorate

Salalah, 3 Aug (ONA) --- The 2025 Summer Program for School Students, organized by the Directorate General of Education in Dhofar Governorate under the theme "Summer of Connection and Growth," commenced today at four summer centers in the governorate. With the participation of 255 male and female students from various schools, the program will run for two weeks.

Hamed Bakhit Al Mashaikhi, Acting Director General of the Directorate General of Education in Dhofar and head of the local supervisory committee, explained that the events are being held as part of the Ministry of Education's commitment to utilizing the summer break to develop students' skills and capabilities in a safe and stimulating educational environment. He added that the program aims to solidify national and community values and build an aware generation capable of keeping pace with technological developments while preserving national identity.

The program includes diverse activities and workshops in multiple areas, such as social and voluntary work, arts, culture, literature, sports, and media, in addition to value-based themes.

The events of the first week will focus on honing personal and social skills through physical activities and programs that emphasize creative thinking, problem analysis, and fostering teamwork and responsibility. The second week will be dedicated to enhancing national identity through educational and cultural competitions that highlight authentic Omani values and customs.

The program is being implemented at the following centers: Al Saeedia School for Boys in Salalah, Manba Al Hikma School, Al Saada School, and Durrat Dhofar School for Girls. The program also includes scientific visits and recreational trips as part of its educational curriculum.
