“Future of Work” Forum Winds Up with Smart Visions to Enhance Work Environment

Salalah, 5 Aug (ONA) --- A two-day forum titled “Future of Work” concluded at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Compound for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah today.

The forum, organized by the Ministry of Labour, saw a large turnout of experts and specialists from the Sultanate of Oman and abroad.

The second day of the forum included two dialogue sessions on key issues related to the work environment and the importance of social dialogue in shaping sustainable labour markets.

The first dialogue session was titled “Establishing a motivating work environment and the attracting talents”. It included four working papers on “The role of social protection in supporting the labour market”; “Career guidance as a means to empower the workforce”; “Effective public-private sector partnerships” and “The role of occupational health and safety systems in influencing work environments”.

The second dialogue session, titled “Social dialogue and the future of labour markets”, saw expanded discussion among researchers who discussed major challenges and solutions about labour issues.

The participants laid emphasis on the significance of devising effective social dialogue models that contribute to the development of labour policies and the realization of balance among parties to production.

Meanwhile, an ongoing “Student Projects Exhibition” continues to showcase the talents of students from vocational colleges. The exhibition today hosted a workshop titled "Psychological and professional resilience as a core skill in modern work establishments”. The exhibition runs until 7 August 2025.
