Dhofar Municipal Council Reviews Development, Service Issues
Salalah, 30 Sep (ONA) --- The Municipal Council in the Governorate of Dhofar today held a meeting during which it discussed issues related to domestic development and public services.
The meeting stressed the importance of meeting the goals of Oman Vision 2040 and supporting sustainable development through better coordination among government units, the private sector and the local community.

Chaired by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar (Chairman of the Council), the meeting hosted specialists from the Directorate General of Social Development (in Dhofar Governorate) to study plans set by the Ministry of Social Development to achieve two priorities: The first priority was about meeting targets of welfare and social protection as envisaged in "Oman Vision 2040", while the second dealt with means of expanding rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities in the wilayats of Dhofar Governorate.
The meeting also looked into the outcome of a visit made to the Directorate General of Public Prosecution by the Social Affairs Committee and the Legal Affairs Committee. The visit focused on the dissemination of legal culture as a means of raising public awareness about the risks involved in improper use of modern technology.
Other issues discussed during the Municipal Council’s meeting included: The registration of fresh pupils in “Grade 1” of primary education for the upcoming School Year (2025-2026); The drawbacks of delays in enrolling children who are eligible to primary education; and Projects to pave roads in the governorate's wilayats in accordance with plans set by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology).
