Training Programm Held to Enhance SMEs Competitiveness in Government Tenders in Salalah

Salalah, 4 Jan 2026 (ONA) --- A training program was held today at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in Dhofar Governorate to groom small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and enhance their competitiveness in securing government tenders and contracts.

This initiative, titled "Tamkeen," aims to improve the efficiency of these enterprises and support their presence in government projects.

The "Tamkeen" initiative is organized by the OCCI in partnership with the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, the Projects, Tenders and Local Content Authority, and the SMEs Development Authority “Riyada”.

The program focused on ways to maximize the benefits for SMEs from the 10 percent quota allocated to them in government tenders and projects. It also aimed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to understand government procurement requirements and build institutional readiness, enabling them to capitalize on available opportunities and transform them into effective partnerships within development projects.

It is worth noting that the implementation of this program is part of the OCCI's broader initiatives aimed at improving the business environment, promoting economic diversification, and supporting partnerships in economic development across the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
