Al Buraimi Municipal Council Holds Fifth Meeting for 2025
Al Buraimi, 26 May (ONA) —— Al Buraimi Municipal Council convened its fifth meeting for 2025 today to discuss key agenda items, most notably the tender for paving 100 kilometers of internal roads across the governorate.
At the beginning of the meeting, the council approved minutes of fourth meeting in 2025, highlighting several decisions, namely awarding the tender for paving 100 km of internal roads to three specialized companies in Al Buraimi Governorate, assigning a five-year maintenance tender for damaged roads in the governorate and reviewing recent social initiatives launched by the Governor's Office.
During the meeting, the Directorate General of Social Development presented its 2024 annual report, structured around four key pillars: Beneficiary Services (Persons with Disabilities) Included statistics on social assistance requests; Social Welfare and Community Development-Focused on support programs for vulnerable groups; Partnerships and Community Empowerment– Highlighted initiatives to assist low-income families through financial aid, training, and employment-linked programs; Family and Community Development– Addressed support mechanisms for women, children, and the elderly, including beneficiary data and aid frameworks.
The directorate also outlined its 2025 strategic plan.
On its turn, the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning delivered a visual presentation on an urban renewal project, developed in collaboration with Al Buraimi Municipality and the Governorate’s Heritage and Tourism Department. The proposal included preliminary designs for the site under the urban renewal vision and phased implementation plans.
The council further reviewed and approved the minutes of the fourth meeting of the Governorate Development Committee for 2025.
