Entrepreneurship Week Kicks Off in Al Buraimi Governorate

Al Buraimi, 8 Oct (ONA) --- The Entrepreneurship Week, an event organized by the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development "Riyada", kicked off in Al Buraimi Governorate today.

The Entrepreneurship Week seeks to inculcate a culture of entrepreneurship in the community, empower entrepreneurs, craftsmen and business women. It also aims to enable emerging entrepreneurs to acquire new skills that would contribute to the development of their projects.

The programme of the Entrepreneurship Week includes specialized workshops run by experts in the field of entrepreneurship, project management and business development.

The week will feature an exhibition of technology and craft industries and a forum that will also serve as a platform for dialogue among entrepreneurs, investors and supporting institutions.

The programme also includes an event titled “SME Kids” that targets youngsters aged 10 to 15 years. The “SME Kids” is designed to instill the concepts of entrepreneurship, the culture of self-employment and innovation in the young generation.

The “Entrepreneurship Talk” is yet another salient feature of the Entrepreneurship Week. During the talk, a group of Omani entrepreneurs elaborate on their experiences and exchange talks about success stories and common challenges.

The opening ceremony of the Entrepreneurship Week was held in the presence of Sayyid Dr. Hamad Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, Halima Rashid Al Zar'ee, Chairperson of the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development "Riyada, government officials, entrepreneurs, crafts people and students.
