Planting 2,000 Seedlings in Mahdah Boosts “National Initiative to Plant 10 Million Trees”

Al Buraimi, 9 Nov (ONA) --- The Environment Authority’s department in Al Buraimi Governorate today carried out a programme whereby 2,000 seedlings of local trees were planted in the Wilayat of Mahdah.

The programme formed part of the “National Initiative to Plant 10 Million Trees”.

As part of the programme, personnel of the Environment Authority and volunteers planted 1,000 seedlings in the Wilayat, while Al Balowra National Trading Company planted another set of 1,000 seedlings.

The programme was in pursuance of efforts undertaken by the Environment Authority to expand green cover, combat desertification and augment the sustainability of ecosystems in the different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
