Foundation Stone Laid for New Samail Hospital Project in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate

Samail, 12 Jun (ONA) --- The Ministry of Health today celebrated laying the foundation stone for the new Samail Hospital in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council.

The hospital, which will consist of five floors, will be set up on an area of 250,000 square metres. The project will cost RO 45 million.

The hospital will have 170 beds, outpatient clinics for all medical specialties, an accident and emergency department, a radiology department, a physiotherapy unit, a nephrology unit and a psychiatry clinic.

The hospital will also have a day care departments, a dental clinic, surgical and internal medicine suites, three operating rooms, an intensive care unit, an integrated floor for obstetrics, a gynaecology and obstetrics ward, a paediatric intensive care department and unit for premature babies.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, Dr. Said Harib Al Lamki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs, and Sheikh Hilal Said Al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyaha, among other officials and dignitaries.
