A’Dakhiliyah Governorate Launches Project to Enhance Institutional Sustainability

Nizwa, 30 Sep (ONA) --- A job succession project was launched today in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate to enhance the Institutional Sustainability of the administrative apparatus by qualifying second-line leaders and ensuring the smooth flow of work in government units.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Sheikh Hilal Said Al Hajri, Governor of A’Dakhiliyah.

Sheikh Hilal said that the job succession project serves as a milestone in human resources management and embodies the belief that national competencies are the true wealth of development. He added that the project seeks to build a more efficient and flexible administrative structure that is capable of keeping pace with developments and meeting the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

Salim bin Mohammed Al Busaidi, Director of the Job Succession Project, said that the project seeks to draft a guide and mechanisms for assessing the readiness of candidates to undertake new jobs in line with precise criteria.

The project, he explained, highlights empowerment opportunities and raising the efficiency of administrative performance.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Balushi, an expert delegated by the Royal Academy of Management (RAM), said that the drafting of a general framework for the project focuses on national references and field studies, including opinion polls and standard practices.

He pointed out that modern assess measures would be applied to ensure transparency and objectivity in nominating candidates for the job succession process.
