Over 49 Percent Completion Rate for Several Road Projects in A’Dakhiliyah
Izki, 2 Nov (ONA) --- The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology continues the implementation of the design and construction project for the Afari Ascent Road and the Al Siqari Village Road in the Wilayats of Samail and Izki in the A’Dakhiliyah Governorate. The completion rate for the project has reached 49.6 percent, with a total cost of RO 4.596 million.
Eng. Mohammed Saif Al Mahmoudi, Engineering Business Developer at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, explained that the project includes the design and construction of the Afari Ascent Road, which is 3.2 kilometers long. This road connects the Wilayats of Samail and Izki, and also links Sultan Thuwayni bin Said Road with Wadi Mahram Road. He noted that the road is a vital project for connecting the villages of Wadi Mahram to the center of the Wilayat of Samail, contributing to shortening distances and improving traffic flow between the villages and the Wilayat centers.

In a statement to Oman News Agency, he added that the project also involves the construction of the Al Siqari Village Road in the Wilayat of Samail, which is 3 kilometers long. This road connects Al Siqari village to the existing asphalt Wadi Andam Road. The project features advanced engineering specifications, as the road consists of two traffic lanes, each 3.5 meters wide, with asphalt shoulders 1.5 meters wide and dirt shoulders 1.0 meter wide on each side.

He pointed out that the project also includes the installation of culverts for rainwater drainage and wadi crossings to ensure continuous traffic movement on the road in all weather conditions, in addition to implementing traffic safety elements such as metal and concrete barriers, directional signs, and road markings, along with the relocation and protection of service lines that intersect the road's path.
