Exhibition of Geographic Technologies Opens to Showcase Student Projects in A’Dakhiliyah

Nizwa, 8 Dec 2025 (ONA) --- The Directorate General of Education in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate today opened the Geographic Technologies Exhibition under the slogan "A Mark in the World of Geography and Modern Technologies."

The event is held at the Grand Mall Nizwa, with the participation of a number of educational entities and student projects specialized in modern geographic technologies.

The exhibition aims to showcase outstanding student projects, enhance the exchange of expertise among teachers, in addition to motivating students and teachers to employ modern technologies in the educational process and raise the level of benefit from them. The exhibition includes seven student projects that highlight diverse applications in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

The University of Nizwa participates in the event by presenting a working paper titled "Using Geographic Information Systems in Detecting the Dubas Bug in Date Palm." Additionally, two participating schools present a simplified presentation about the modern technologies included in Social Studies curricula, one in Arabic and the other in English.

Specialists from the Social Studies Curriculum Development Department at the Directorate General of Curriculum Development presented an overview of the Digital Atlas project that the Ministry intends to launch soon, alongside a display of several devices from the Modern Geographic Technologies Laboratory belonging to the A’Dakhiliyah Follow-up Team for Geographic Technologies in the Governorate.
