A’Dakhiliyah Municipal Council Discusses Annual Plan for Developing Governorate in 2026

Nizwa, 13 Jan 2026 (ONA) --- The Municipal Council of A’Dakhiliyah Governorate today held its first meeting in 2026. The meeting discussed a proposed annual plan to develop the governorate during 2026.

The plan seeks to improve the standard of services provided in the governorate.

The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Hilal bin Said Al Hajri, Governor of A'Dakhiliyah.

The Municipal Council looked into the progress made in implementing the recommendations made during its 10thmeeting in 2025. It also listened to a briefing by the commander of the Royal Oman Police unit in the governorate, who spoke about proposals to improve road traffic in the Village of Farq in the Wilayat of Nizwa.

The council also discussed proposals submitted by the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning in the governorate on developing services and residential sites in the governorate’s wilayats. It studied a request to allocate a site for a public park in Ain Waddah area in the Wilayat of Bahla.

The council discussed a request to allocate a site for a health centre in the Hail Ashoor area in the Wilayat of Al Hamra, in addition to calls to develop spaces near the Sultan Qaboos Mosque and the areas of Ruwaigh A’Safil and Al Khatim in Jabal Shams.

About the Wilayat of Samayil, the municipal council discussed a request to allocate an area for livestock pens in Seeh Haramil, in addition to a request to approve the allocation of new residential plots in Al Awainah Plan (3).

About the Wilayat of Bidbid, the municipal council discussed a request to reclaim the land allocated for a health centre in the area of Fanja and studied a request to allocate a land plot for a park.
