Preliminary Qualifiers for Sultan Qaboos Quran Competition Begin in Al Mudhaibi
Al Mudhaibi, 25 Aug (ONA) — The preliminary qualifiers for the 33rd edition of Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition commenced today in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi. This marks the second stage of the competition’s tour covering North A’Sharqiyah Governorate, which will continue until 28 August.
Dr. Said Hameed Al Dhoyani, Deputy Head of the Competition’s Qualifying Committee, stated that 53 participants competed at the Al Mudhaibi center across seven categories, namely level 1 (full memorization of the Holy Quran), level 2 (memorization of 24 consecutive parts), level 3 (memorization of 18 consecutive parts), level 4 (memorization of 12 consecutive parts), level 5 (memorization of 6 consecutive parts), level 6 (memorization of 4 consecutive parts) and level 7 (memorization of 2 consecutive parts).
He noted that North A’Sharqiyah Governorate hosted three qualifying centers this year. The first center, in Ibra, concluded its qualifiers last week with 234 participants. The second center, in Al Mudhaibi, will conduct evaluations over two days, followed by the final center in Sinaw on 27-28 August.
Organized by Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science, the competition aims to strengthen spiritual values, develop Quranic skills, and encourage competitive excellence among participants, reflecting a profound commitment to nurturing Quranic memorization talents among youth.
