Al Mudhaibi, 7 Jan 2026 (ONA) --- The Environment Department in North A’Sharqiyah Governorate organized an environmental campaign today titled "Seed of Hope." The initiative aims to plant one million seeds across the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi to mark Oman Environment Day, which falls on 8 January annually.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of Sheikh Saud Mohammed al Hinai, Wali of Al Mudhaibi.
Eng. Said Nasser Al Abdali, Director of the Environment Department in North A’Sharqiyah, stated that the campaign translates the national commitment to creating a healthy and integrated green environment.
He noted that the initiative aims to restore the natural balance of local ecosystems, adds natural beauty to the local landscapes of the Wilayat and focuses on increasing vegetation cover to stabilize soil.
In addition to the planting, the initiative included a tree-pruning campaign at selected sites. This activity aims to improve the health of existing trees and stimulate natural growth, thereby enhancing the overall quality of the local ecosystem.
