SEZAD Introduces Duqm Now Forum
Duqm, 19 Jan (ONA) --- The Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) introduces Duqm Now – a quarterly forum that brings together the nation's visionaries, doers and decision-makers.
This unique platform, sponsored by Duqm Quarries and the Development Bank goes beyond traditional networking to deliver actionable insights and forge the connections that turn ambitious plans into business reality.
The first session will be on 29 January 2025 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Duqm. With Oman targeting 30% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030 this timely event will examine how businesses of all sizes can harness opportunities in one of Oman’s most transformative sectors. The expert panel brings together key industry leaders.
Investment in clean energy has accelerated since 2020 and spending on renewable power, grids and storage. In Europe, SMEs in the renewable energy sector have reported an average annual revenue increase of 15% over the past five years, driven by strong market demand and supportive policies. SEZAD’s Integrated Energy Valley offers the infrastructure, strategic location and support services necessary for local as well as international businesses to tap into this expanding industry and become part of the global shift towards clean energy.
Eng. Ahmed Akaak, CEO, SEZAD described Duqm Now as a carefully crafted platform for learning and growth. “We will bring together top experts to provide actionable insights on timely and relevant themes. Each session designed to deliver transformative ideas that can help attendees enhance their leadership, strengthen their teams and expand their businesses. More than just standalone discussions, we aim to create a cohesive experience where each session builds on the last, allowing attendees to integrate and apply what they learn in meaningful ways.”
On his turn, Eng. Ibrahim Al Hasni, MD, Duqm Quarries said, “Duqm Now is an investment in the future of business in Oman. As a member of the SEZAD community we believe these quarterly events will help businesses of all sizes explore new directions, forge partnerships and seize the exciting opportunities Duqm offers.”
Beyond the discussions, Duqm Now will provide attendees with opportunities to connect with peers, industry experts and potential partners. A podcast series will extend key takeaways to a broader audience, reinforcing SEZAD’s role as a leading business hub for innovation and investment.
All four 2025 sessions have been developed to align with Oman Vision 2040, covering topics such as education-industry collaboration, circular economy practices and advancements in petrochemicals. The initiative reflects SEZAD’s commitment to fostering enterprise and encouraging innovative thinking. “Duqm Now aims to bring together our tenant community and stakeholders while offering forward looking entrepreneurs and potential investors insights into the real opportunities right now on SEZAD,” concluded Eng.
