First National UOG Medical Conference Kicks off in Sohar

Sohar, 6 Feb (ONA) --- Represented by Sohar Health Complex, the Directorate General of Health Services in North Al Batinah Governorate today held the first national conference on ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology (UOG).

The conference brought together experts and specialists from various health establishments in the Sultanate of Oman, who reviewed the latest technologies on using ultrasound devices, with emphasis on the devices' accuracy in diagnosing cases in the first trimester of pregnancy, fatal diseases and early-life health problems.

The participants also discussed strategies for improving training to ensure maximum benefit from ultrasound devices and offer more efficient public healthcare.

Through workshops at Sohar Health Complex, more than 50 female trainee doctors received specialized training under the supervision of internationally-accredited trainers from Oman Society of Ultrasound in Medicine.
