MoU Signed to Equip Advanced Technologies Lab in Sohar UTAS

Sohar, 23 Mar (ONA) --- Sohar Aluminium Company and the University of Technology and Applied Sciences branch in Sohar today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to fund the equipping of the advanced technologies lab in the university.

The MoU was signed by Jameel Mohammed Shakeel, Head of Communication and Social Responsibility in Sohar Aluminium and Dr. Hanifa Ahmed Al Qasimi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences branch in Sohar.

As per the MoU, the company will fund the purchase of equipment and technical devices for the advanced technologies lab in the University of Technology and Applied Sciences branch in Sohar. The lab focuses on innovation and research in the fields of virtual reality, blockchain technology, information sciences and hybrid cloud technology.

The lab will provide to its beneficiaries a range of services, such as workshops, training courses, guidance programmes, research projects, hackathons, competitions and exhibitions.
