Second Pharmaceutical Care Conference, Innovation Lab Begins in North Al Batinah

Sohar, 25 Sep (ONA) --- The Second Pharmaceutical Care Conference and Innovation Lab was inaugurated today in the Wilayat of Sohar, North Al Batinah Governorate.

The event was held under the auspices of Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al Ajmi, Executive President of the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB), with the participation of pharmacists from several health institutions.

Badr Abdulaziz Al Maghrabi, Director of the Pharmaceutical Care and Medical Stores Department in North Al Batinah Governorate, noted that the conference coincides with World Pharmacists Day, adopted by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) on 25 September each year. The day aims to raise public awareness of the pharmacist's role and encourage activities that improve healthcare. This year’s slogan is "Think Health, Think Pharmacist."

He added, "This scientific conference aims to enhance the exchange of expertise among pharmacists and medical staff in general, update information, and refine the skills of pharmacists working in health institutions. The conference covers several important topics, including Lean Management, change management, root cause analysis of challenges, and development planning. We hope this conference will be beneficial and contribute to improving health services and enhancing patient safety in health institutions."

The conference also featured the inauguration of the governorate's first Innovation Lab. This lab serves as a stimulating platform that encourages innovative thinking and enhances the role of healthcare professionals in North Al Batinah in providing creative solutions that contribute to service development and sustainability.

A concurrent exhibition was opened to showcase the most important achievements of pharmacists during 2025 and innovations in the health sector in the governorate, featuring over 20 stalls.
