Sohar, 8 Dec 2025 (ONA) --- The Ministry of Education, with strategic support and partnership from the Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR), and in cooperation with the Oman Society for Energy Services (OPAL) and Sohar Port and Freezone, launched the "Akhdar" (Green) campaign today to enhance awareness of future jobs and the Green Economy in North Al Batinah.
The campaign targets the training of 2,200 participants from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman: 1,100 Career Guidance Specialists and 1,100 students from grades 9–11 in general education. The goal is to enhance their knowledge of rising career opportunities in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and natural resource management.
The campaign seeks to build advanced student and educational awareness about green future jobs, and link educational specializations with professional opportunities in the national labor market, thereby contributing to aligning educational outcomes with the requirements of the next stage.
It also aims to entrench a culture of sustainability in educational programs and strengthen partnerships between the educational and private sectors, in alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 to build a diversified and sustainable economy based on knowledge and innovation.
In North Al Batinah, 240 trainees are participating in the campaign, including 140 Career Guidance Specialists and 100 students from grades 9–11. The first day was dedicated to Career Guidance Specialists and included topics on energy transition and future skills required for working in the green hydrogen and renewable energy sectors.
This initiative is a strategic step aimed at preparing a generation aware of future career paths related to the Green Economy, the requirements of sustainable development, and the Omani labor market.
