North Al Batinah Municipal Council Reviews Committee Activities, Community Initiatives

Sohar, 24 Dec 2025 (ONA) --- The Municipal Council of North Al Batinah Governorate today held its tenth meeting of the year, chaired by Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, and attended by the council members.

During the meeting, the Council reviewed the initiatives and programs implemented by the Educational Research and Studies Committee at the Directorate General of Education in the governorate through a presentation by committee specialists. The Council also hosted specialists and organizers of the "Wafaa" (Loyalty) initiative, who presented the team’s vision and mission aimed at providing integrated social, health, and entertainment services for the elderly, persons with disabilities, and retirees.

The Council examined a report on field visits conducted by the Social Affairs Committee to the Wafaa Centers, the Al Noor Association for the Blind, and the Oman Association for Persons with Disabilities. Additionally, they reviewed the results of the Social Affairs Committee’s fifth meeting.

Furthermore, the Council looked into the results of the Governorate Development Committee meetings concerning several referred topics. These included the establishment of permanent locations to display and sell products from productive families across the governorate’s wilayats, the conceptual design for smart charging stations in the Wilayat of Saham, and the construction of side channels along roads to facilitate the extension of infrastructure utilities. The committee also discussed the challenges facing local sports and cultural teams at the governorate level.

Finally, the Council discussed several responses received from government entities regarding various local matters.
