Sohar, 5 Jan 2026 (ONA) --- An economic seminar titled "Supply Chain and Logistics Management" was held today in the Wilayat of Sohar, North Al Batinah Governorate.

Organized by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), the event was held under the auspices of Dr. Nasser Rashid Al Maawali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, and attended by Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OCCI.

The seminar aligns with the Chamber's strategic goals to improve the business environment and enhance partnerships in the economic development of governorates. It focused on reviewing the latest developments and trends in supply chain management and logistics, discussing challenges facing this vital sector amidst global economic changes, and exploring digital transformation opportunities and the role of modern technologies in improving operational efficiency.

The event aimed to raise awareness of the logistics sector as a key enabler for economic diversification. Discussions centered on exploring associated investment opportunities and examining the role of ports, free zones, and special economic zones in supporting trade movement and supply chain integration, consistent with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The seminar emphasized the importance of engaging the private sector to leverage Oman's advanced logistical infrastructure. By utilizing these investment opportunities, the Sultanate of Oman aims to raise the competitiveness of the national economy and increase trade exchange between Oman and the rest of the world.
