South Al Batinah Municipality Organizes Health Forum to Enhance Governance, Food Safety
Barka, 23 Dec 2025 (ONA) --- South Al Batinah Municipality today started a two-day ‘municipal health forum’ in the Wilayat of Barka, as part of the Municipality's efforts to enhance institutional integration in food safety and develop the overall municipal work system.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Eng. Masoud bin Said Al Hashmi, Governor of South Al Batinah.

The forum deals with key challenges and opportunities in the municipal sector and review efforts made in the areas of food safety, public health, waste management, municipal inspection and digital transition.
The forum also explores modern initiatives and smart technologies that contribute to raising the efficiency of municipal performance and improving the quality of services provided to the community.
The opening ceremony included visual presentations featuring the progress of municipal action in the South Al Batinah Governorate, and its impact in ameliorating the quality of life, protecting society and achieving environmental sustainability.
The ceremony also saw the launch of a smart inspection kit supported by "The Internet of Things (IoT)" technology. The device is set to upgrade the accuracy of field work.
An exhibition held on the sidelines of the ceremony includes a special gallery for the Department of Health Affairs that showcase the efforts made in food safety and veterinary control at municipal slaughterhouses.
The exhibition also includes galleries that display joint-stock companies’ products and solutions aimed to raise public health and precautionary control in a manner keeps pace with the updates in the municipal health work system.
