Oman Participates in 2nd Arab Forum for Equality
Beirut, 7 Jun (ONA) --- The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Social Development, took part in the 2nd Arab Forum for Equality, held in Lebanon.
The forum was themed “Towards inclusive youth employment in the Arab region”.
Oman’s delegation in the forum was headed by Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development.
The forum was organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies. It aimed to finalize dialogue between decision-makers and experts in the Arab region and other places of the world within the context of inequality in the Arab region.
The forum highlighted the effects of inequality resulting from current regional and international developments. It also showcased best practices in the social security sphere.
The forum touched on innovative and practical policies that tackle inequality, with a focus on food security as one form of such inequality.
