RAM Launches 4th Cohort of National Programme for Developing Leaders

Muscat, 18 Jul (ONA) --- The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) launched the fourth cohort of the National Programme for Developing Leaders and Future Foresight.

The programme is aimed at preparing national leaders to navigate the rapidly changing global landscape in alignment with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

Developed in collaboration with Eller Executive Education at the University of Arizona, this initiative focuses on cultivating critical leadership skills among middle management officials across various sectors of the state’s administrative apparatus.

Thirty participants, including assistant general managers, department directors, assistant directors, and equivalent positions within the state's managerial apparatus, will join the fourth cohort of the programme. Spanning six months, this cohort's training pathway comprises of five modules that will focus on important aspects that contribute to preparing national leaders and equipping them with essential skills.

The skills covered in the programme include networking and relationship building, understanding the work culture of institutions, and identifying the success factors of different teams within an institution. This initiative plays a crucial role in enhancing Oman’s economy and promoting collaboration between the government and private sectors to strengthen global competitiveness.

Dr. Fathiya Al Rashdi, Vice President for Programme Affairs at the Royal Academy of Management, highlighted that the National Programme for Developing Leaders and Future Foresight aims to enhance government systems, ensuring they deliver improved services that meet evolving needs and achieve public goals.

Dr. Fathiya further elaborated on the programme's objectives, emphasizing its role in instigating a profound and sustainable transformation in participants' thinking and leadership skills. The programme is designed to cultivate a transformative mindset, enhancing leaders' self-awareness, behaviors, and ability to effectively lead teams.

The training pathway for the fourth cohort of the programme incorporates a comprehensive, multi-method educational framework. It encompasses accelerator experiences, tailored individual and group training sessions, personal interviews, and research projects.

Participants are supported by mentors and supervisors from the private sector, enhancing their learning experience. This holistic approach is designed to cultivate essential competencies such as a growth mindset, adaptability, agile leadership styles, creative problem-solving, strategic collaboration, effective communication, persuasive abilities, and other crucial skills necessary for professional success.
