Technical Workshop Held on “Transparency and National Report” on Climate Change
Muscat, 9 Sep (ONA) --- A technical workshop on "Preparing the First Transparency Report and the 3rd National Proclamation on Climate Change" began in Muscat today. The reports reflect the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to its climate pledges and highlight Oman’s role in addressing the challenges of climate change.
The three-day workshop, being organized by the Environment Authority, seeks to review the results of greenhouse gas emissions inventory, verify the accuracy and transparency of reported data and assess potential losses and damages, including social and economic impacts of climate change in Oman.
The workshop aims to engage key stakeholders in the process of providing inputs to improve reporting, ensure the study of diverse perspectives and enhance a comprehensive understanding of data and methodologies.
The workshop is a step forward in completing the transparency reports and national climate communication reports and ensuring compliance with the standards set by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, among other international commitments towards climate change.
