UAE Delegation Explores Oman’s Judicial Experience

Muscat, 5 Nov (ONA) --- A judicial delegation from the Federal Supreme Court in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today visited the Supreme Judicial Council in Muscat where it had a close look at Council’s experience in developing the judicial and justice systems.

The visit was part of a programme to explore the functions of GCC supreme courts and courts of cassation.

Sayyid Khalifa bin Said Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Supreme Court, and Falah Shaya Al Hajri, Judge at the UAE Federal Supreme Court (who headed the visiting delegation) held a meeting that dealt with various aspects of judicial cooperation.

The two sides commended the depth of bilateral relations and cordial bonds binding the peoples of Oman and UAE.

The UAE delegation later went on tour of the facilities of the Supreme Court and listened to a briefing about procedures of lawsuits.

Issa Hamad Al Azri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Judicial Council, also held a meeting with the UAE delegation about areas of judicial and legislative cooperation. The UAE delegation watched a presentation about the Supreme Judicial Council’s strategic plan and its role in achieving prompt justice and consolidating the rule of law.

Attorney General Nasr Khamis Al Sawa’ee also discussed scopes for integration between the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE in the fields of public prosecution, investigation and judicial actions.
