Muscat, 24 Apr (ONA) --- Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, today received a delegation from Australia’s Curtin University, led by Prof. Xiaotian Zhang, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Global.

Al Mahrouqi emphasized the importance of strategic international partnerships in advancing Oman’s higher education system and providing students with world-class academic opportunities.

Discussions explored expanding collaboration between Curtin University and local institutions through joint research in energy and minerals, leveraging Australian expertise in sustainability and green technology, organizing joint scientific research events, and exploring the possibility of establishing a center of excellence for carbon dioxide utilization.

Both sides also examined enhancing student exchange programs, including specialized training initiatives and encouraging Curtin students to participate in Oman’s Scientific and Cultural Exchange Program.
