HM The Sultan Receives Written Message from President of Comoros

Muscat, 21 May (ONA) —— His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has received a written message from President Othman Ghazali of the Union of the Comoros. The message deals with relations between the two countries.

It was received by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, when he received today at the General Diwan of the Foreign Ministry Mbae Mohamed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Envoy of the President of the Union of the Comoros.

During the meeting, the Comorian envoy conveyed greetings and best wishes of President Ghazali to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people.

On his turn, Sayyid Badr asked the guest to convey His Majesty’s greetings and best wishes to President Ghazali and the people of the Comoros.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the historical relations and fraternal cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Union of the Comoros, exchanging views on ways to enhance partnership in economic fields—particularly food security, transportation, and tourism—in a manner that serves both nations.

Additionally, the two sides addressed several issues and developments of mutual concern, as well as efforts to promote peace, harmony, and the consolidation of security and stability worldwide.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, along with a number of officials from both sides.
