Qualifiers to Represent Oman at Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions 2026 Announced

Muscat, 20 Jan 2026 (ONA) --- The Research and Innovation Authority announced the Omani innovative projects qualified to represent the Sultanate of Oman at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in its 51st edition. The announcement was made during a ceremony held today at the German University of Technology in Muscat.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Saif Abdullah Al Haddabi, Chairman of the Research and Innovation Authority, in the presence of Dr. Hussein Suleiman Al Salmi, Vice-Dean for Financial and Administrative Affairs at the German University of Technology, along with a number of officials, academics, and innovators.

This announcement comes within the framework of national efforts to enhance the research and innovation ecosystem, translating the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 aimed at building a knowledge-based economy, empowering national competencies, and supporting innovation as a main pillar for sustainable development.

The ceremony featured a presentation of the distinguished innovative projects that passed the evaluation stages by a specialized judging committee. A total of (118) innovative projects were submitted, of which (20) projects qualified for the final stage. The results led to the selection of (4) projects to represent the Sultanate of Oman at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, which will be hosted by the Swiss city of Geneva in this March. These projects are: the Doppler Blood Flow Sensor project by Hussein Ali Al Nu’amani, the 4S Sponge project by Maytha Said Al Hindasi, the Super Calc project by Abdulaziz Salim Al Ka’abi, and the Spray Tech project by Mohammed Al Murr Al Salmi.

The Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions is a global platform showcasing over a thousand innovations from about 40 countries, covering diverse fields including engineering, energy, health, environment, technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, transportation, and life sciences. It provides innovators with broad opportunities for learning, skill development, and building effective international relationships.
