Strategic Agreement Signed to Furnish Platforms for Satellite Launch in Oman

Muscat, 26 Jan (ONA)—International Emerging Technology Company (ETCO) today signed an agreement with the US firm Virgin Orbit to furnish satellite launch platforms in the Sultanate of Oman. The project, to be carried out with support from the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, will be one of the unique ventures in the field of space logistics services.

The strategic agreement was signed by Abdulaziz Sadiq Al Haj Jaafar, CEO of ETCO, and Stephen Eisele, Vice President of Business and Strategy at Virgin Orbit.

The agreement provides for locating ideal positions on the Earth’s orbit to launch low-altitude satellites to conduct scientific studies and snap high definition images of the space.

The data and images will be analyzed digitally through the solutions of Totara Artificial Intelligence company and the expertise of ETCO.

Based on virtual reality, machine learning and artificial intelligence, the final analysis offer a close look at trends and approaches for the prediction of climate change, natural disasters and other advantages.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr.AlibinAmer Al Shidhani,UndersecretaryforCommunications and Information Technology, Dr. Mohammed Said Al Maamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and Leslie . M.Tsou, the United States Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman.
