Added Value of Private Enterprises Exceeds RO 8.8 Billion
Muscat, 6 May (ONA) --- The total added value of active private enterprises in the Sultanate of Oman during the fourth quarter of 2023 amounted to RO 8,850.6 million, according to preliminary data issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The contribution of the actual operating enterprises to the GDP at current prices during the fourth quarter of 2023 stood at 81.2%, compared to 84% for the fourth quarter of 2022.
The added value of large enterprises amounted to RO 6,579.4 million, representing a rate of 60.4%, a decrease of 6.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The added value of medium enterprises amounted to RO 681.9 million (6.3%), going down by 3.2%.
Meanwhile, the added value of small enterprises amounted to RO 718.6 million, representing a rate of 6.6%, constituting a decrease of 2%. The total value added of micro enterprises amounted to RO 870.7 million, representing a rate of 8%, which constitutes a rise by 0.7%.
It is worth noting that the number of workers in active enterprises in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 6.4%, to stand at 1,823,660 workers during the fourth quarter of 2023, compared to 1,713,407 workers during the fourth quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, the number of enterprises reached 240,765 during the fourth quarter of 2023, with an increase of 8.7% compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
