Labour Ministry Organizes Symposium on Settlement of Disputes

Muscat, 26 May (ONA) --- The Ministry of Labour today organized a symposium on settlement of labour disputes. The event was attended by business owners, workers, judges and lawyers.

The symposium reviewed the challenges facing employers and explored new mechanism for the settlement of labour disputes within the provisions of the Omani Labour Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 53/2023.

Working papers presented at the symposium touched on the role of amicable settlement committees in resolving labour disputes. They also underlined the importance of arbitration as a means of settlement of labour disputes as stipulated by the Omani Labour Law.

The symposium was also attended by Sheikh Nasr Amer Al Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Labour.
