Transport Ministry Organises Meeting on Open Data

Muscat, 12 Jun (ONA) --- Represented by the National Centre for Space, AI and Advanced Technologies, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology held a meeting in Muscat today on open data. The meeting was attended by representatives of units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus.

The meeting highlighted the importance of open data in improving government services and introducing the best practices in the field of data collection and dissemination. It also offered an opportunity for the participants to share experiences of successful government institutions.

The meeting discussed the national data strategy, which aims at managing and implementing the open data policy in various government sectors under the supervision of the ministry.

During the meeting, government departments that implemented the policy were felicitated. They were the Environment Authority, the Ministry of Information, Muscat Municipality, the State’s Audit Institution, the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the Financial Services Authority, the Municipality of Dhofar, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, and the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones.
