Salalah Free Zone Showcases its Industries, Investments
Salalah, 18 Jul (ONA) --- Salalah Free Zone (SFZ) today organized an exhibition to showcase the most prominent industries and investments in the zone under the slogan “Made in SFZ”. Sixteen firms operating at SFZ took part in the third edition of this exhibition.
Dr. Ali Mohammed Tabouk, CEO of the Salalah Free Zone, said that SFZ succeeded in attracting 13 new companies during the first half of 2024. He pointed out that 70 percent of the new firms have set up industrial projects that engaged in producing derivatives of frankincense, packaging and manufacturing detergent agents like soap and frankincense oil. The companies also produced air conditioning devices, blood sugar measuring gadgets, foodstuff and dairy products.
Tabouk added that the exhibition was aimed at raising community awareness about companies and products manufactured in the Salalah Free Zone. He stressed the importance of the SFZ as a prime mover for the advancement of the industrial sector and the consolidation of the national economy at large.
SFZ cumulative investment stands at RO 4.7 billion, with 64 out of 145 registered companies fully functional during the operational stage. Industrial companies constitute 56 percent of the total number of companies at the SFZ, which indicates the strength of investments in the zone.
