Qatari-Omani Investment Forum Discusses Partnerships in Trade, Investment Areas
Doha, 23 Jan (ONA) --- The Omani-Qatari Investment Forum, held in Doha today, explored ways of boosting trade and investment relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar.
The forum looked into opportunities for establishing new economic partnerships that contribute to sustainable development and the growth of national economy in the two countries.
The forum reflected the depth of economic ties and the keenness of the two sides to develop joint cooperation in strategic sectors.
Recent years saw remarkable growth in the volume of mutual investments between Oman and Qatar. Qatari investments in Oman, which stood at about RO 750 million, focused on vital sectors like energy, tourism, transport, logistics and real estate. In return, Omani investments in Qatar supported sectors like services and logistics.
The volume of Qatari imports to Oman until October 2024 stood at about RO 708 million, while the value of Omani non-oil exports to Qatar until the end of November 2024 touched RO 205 million.
Companies and businessmen from the two countries’ private sectors held meetings on the sidelines of the forum.
