Gold Edges Lower as Dollar Rises, Fed Meeting in Focus
Singapore, 27 Jan (ONA) --- Gold prices edged lower in early Asian hours today as the dollar gained, while investors awaited more guidance on interest rate decision from the US Federal Reserve's first meeting of 2025 later this week.
Spot gold was down 0.1% to $2,768.01 per ounce. US gold futures shed 0.2% to $2,772.70.
US Fed policymakers are expected to keep rates on hold in the current 4.25%-to-4.50% range in their 28-29 January meeting.
As for other precious metals, spot silver was 0.3% lower to $30.52 per ounce, palladium dropped 0.8% to $979.72 and platinum fell 0.4% to 945.20.
