Oman Cybersecurity Conference Focuses on Logistic Sector Empowerment

Muscat, 24 Apr (ONA) --- Acting in cooperation with Cyber ​​Defense Center and the Advanced Cyber​security Academy, Al Roya newspaper today organized, in Muscat, Oman’s cybersecurity conference.

The conference is themed "Enabling Cyber ​​Security in the Logistics Sector".

The conference discussed cyber risks and threats and the best practices to address related challenges in the sector.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Eng. Said Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

Four working papers were presented during the conference: The 1st dealt with “managing the complex world of cybersecurity”; the 2nd elaborated on “cybersecurity risks and threats in the logistics sector”; the 3rd highlighted “cyber threats in Internet of Things (IoT) integration systems, smart warehouses and logistics services”; and the 4th was titled "rethinking industrial control system security using zero trust in logistics operations."

The conference also included a discussion panel about the importance of establishing national standards for the most convenient cybersecurity practices in the logistics sector, with the prime objective of devising a unified national framework for information security.
