Foreign Minister, US Counterpart Discuss Efforts to Reach Permanent Ceasefire in Gaza

Muscat, 14 Jun (ONA) —— Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister today received a phone call from Anthony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America.

During the call, the two ministers reviewed developments related to the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip and the efforts made to reach an agreement between Hamas and Israel for a permanent ceasefire, allowing the entry of sufficient relief aid, halting the bloodshed and human suffering, as well as the release of detainees and prisoners on both sides.

The two ministers agreed on the pressing necessity of stopping the conflict and backing all endeavors to achieve peace that serves all parties and the region as well.

They also stressed the need to support the Palestinian National Authority politically and financially in a manner that enables it to carry out its responsibilities.

As for the the situation in Yemen, the two ministers underscored the importance of backing efforts to achieve peace and the release of UN detainees and other civilians within the context of efforts aimed at preventing escalation of the situation in the region.—— Ends/AH
