Foreign Minister Participates in Ministerial Meetings with Foreign Ministers of India, Russia and Brazil
Riyadh, 9 Sep (ONA) —— Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister took part today in the joint ministerial meeting held between the GCC foreign ministers andS. Jaishankat, Minister of External Affairs in the Republic of India.
The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the GCC Secretariat General, discussed aspects of Gulf-Indian cooperation and means of boosting the strategic partnership between the two sides in various fields, especially in the economic, trade and investment areas.
The meeting also looked into opening new horizons that contribute to achieving sustainable growth.
It also reviewed a number of developments and issues on the regional and international arenas.
Sayyid Badr also took part in the joint ministerial meeting held between the GCC foreign ministers and Sergy Lavrov, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.
The meeting reviewed relations between the GCC countries and Russia in various areas, and means of promoting them.
The two sides exchanged views on a set of thorny issues, especially those related to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the unjust Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, and efforts for ceasefire, as well as backing humanitarian relief efforts and pushing the political process towards achieving a just peace based on a two-state solution.
The GCC side lauded the Russian stances on the Palestinian issue, which are consistent with the stances of the GCC countries.
Meanwhile, Sayyid Badr took part in the joint ministerial meeting held between the GCC foreign ministers and Mauro Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
The meeting discussed aspects of the joint cooperation between the two sides and means of pushing them towards wider horizons in various political, economic, investment, security and cultural fields.
It also touched on the developments at the regional and international arenas.
The meetings were attended by HH Sayyid Faisal bin Turky Al Said, Ambassador of Oman to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashil Al Maskari, Head of the GCC and Regional Neigbourhood Department and a number of officials at the Foreign Ministry.
