Oman, Iraq Hold Talks Session
Muscat, 16 Sep (ONA) --- The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Iraq underline the historic relations binding the two countries and their peoples.
This came during a session of political talks, held in Muscat today.
The Omani side was headed by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, while the Iraqi side was headed by Dr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq.
The two ministers highlighted areas of mutual cooperation in various political, economic, trade and cultural fields, and means of enhancing them to serve joint interests.
They also reviewed developments of regional and international issues of mutual interests. At the forefront of these issues is the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the situation of escalation in the region as a result of this aggression.
Moreover, the two ministers reiterated their continued backing of efforts aimed at enhancing peaceful approaches and cementing the pillars of regional and international security and stability through consolidating the rules of international law and respecting international legitimacy, as well as principles of justice.
The session was attended by a number of officials from both sides.
